🙌🏽 Hello to all the new subscribers and welcome to another week in Monday Madness.

If you’d like to subscribe to become an ongoing patron of this newsletter, you can do this before diving into this week’s issue:

Good morning folks ✌🏽,

Early 2021, I had planned to update the progress of my goal's list every quarter. I'm a tad behind on this!

To hold onto the accountability loop and make sure I'm not just writing down goals for the sake of it. For this year, I want to use the power of three - to set myself three goals each year. And, for this year alone here's my list:

Tone Up!💪🏽

This has been my goal for the last 2 years. Practising an excuse I tell myself that Gym is boring or eating healthy food is a nuisance in the amounting preparation that is required. I know I can't falter from the disciplined practice to achieve a well-defined physique. I know this because I have done it before. So to repeat the same process should not be hard, right? Well, incorrect - anything that isn't hard doesn't highlight progress. This new process of mine will be different. I need to hold myself accountable by being consistent. During COVID-19 lockdown, I resorted to weight lifting with some old, run-down tyres. It progressed but didn't last for long with changing season - I resorted to band work, stretching. I need to stay consistent and build a routine around my workouts that I can enjoy.

So, as of April 12, 2021 - the reopening of many services has also opened the doors to my second goal. In the coming weeks, I'll be booking away my CBT test with a licensed trainer. A CBT is compulsory basic training that provides a 2-year timeline to attain the necessary license. I'll report back on the progress in the coming months.

Improve on my coding 👨🏽‍💻

I have been hearing the importance of being able to code and how it improves problem-solving.

Initially, I'd subjected myself to a single day to practice on my coding - more specifically on Friday's. I intend to make this a routinely 3 times per week practice. I have been using Udemy as my interface to learn and improve. In my next quarter review, I'll report back on how have I been doing.

Coming to an end, I want to take this opportunity to highlight this is a milestone newsletter for myself as my 50th issue. Proud of this one!

Well, that's all for this week!

Abhishek

The advantage of learning from mistakes is by focusing on quantitive measure instead of qualitative. Because only by making mistakes you enjoy 😊 the process of learning.

Snippet of Value 🔥

  1. Article - The neuroscience of ikigai - I have been hearing about ikiagi a lot from various research literature and authors. There is even a book. It was refreshing to read how impactful the theory of ikiagi has been to the overall well-being.
